Launched in May 2025, ART/ST Records (pronounced Artist Records) was born out of a home studio in Katong. While we began with music, we soon realized our true calling: preserving life. From a child’s first words to a grandmother’s last voicemail, we transform transient digital pings into permanent physical heirlooms. In a world of disappearing stories, our vision is to restore intention to how we communicate. We ensure your most precious voices aren't just heard today, but are preserved as physical records for generations to come.
Our Story: Turning Fleeting Moments into Permanent Legacies
ART/ST Records began when Charlyn, discovered an old tape of her late grandfather. Amidst his singing, she heard her five-year-old self interrupting him—capturing a rare, unscripted moment of connection. That one minute of audio didn't just play sound; it brought back the smells, sights, and feelings of her childhood. It proved that audio is the ultimate tool for immortalizing the moments that matter most.
Driven to revive Singapore’s lost history of record-making, Charlyn tracked down a vintage 1960s lathe-cutting machine from the Arizona desert. After a journey of mechanical repairs and community support, ART/ST Records was born—bringing the specialized art of handcrafted records back to our shores.
